What size air conditioning unit do I need?
It depends on the size of the room, how much sun it gets, the insulation and what the room is used for. We install units from 2.5kW up to 10kW and size every system properly during the site visit rather than guessing over the phone. A 2.5kW unit typically suits a bedroom or small home office, while larger living spaces, open plan kitchens and commercial rooms need more.
What is the difference between a multi split and a VRF system?
Both connect two or more indoor units to a single outdoor unit. The difference is control. On a multi split system every indoor unit has to be in the same mode, so they all heat or all cool. A VRF system lets each indoor unit heat or cool independently, so one room can be cooling while another is heating. VRF suits larger homes and commercial premises where rooms have different needs.
Can air conditioning heat as well as cool?
Yes. The systems we install are heat pumps, so they provide efficient heating in winter as well as cooling in summer. Many customers use them as their main heating in extensions, garden offices, conservatories and rooms that the central heating struggles with.
